Mahindra’s Climate Responsibility Does Not End with the Sale

Mahindra manufactures vehicles, tractors, and industrial equipment. But the carbon impact of these products continues long after they leave the factory.
Fuel-powered vehicles and tractors emit carbon throughout years of use. Additional emissions come from steel, components, batteries, transportation, and hundreds of suppliers across Mahindra’s value chain.
Mahindra already reports corporate emissions, renewable energy use, and electric vehicle sales. However, its public disclosures do not clearly show which products, facilities, and suppliers generate the greatest climate impact.
- Break down emissions by major facility, business unit, product type, and Scope 3 category.
- Require major suppliers to disclose their emissions and reduction targets.
- Publish lifecycle carbon data for major vehicles and tractors, including emissions from production, use, and disposal.
- Report verified EV sales and set measurable product-level emissions reduction targets through 2030.
A company’s responsibility should not end when its product is sold.
Mahindra has the data and the ability to act. It should provide the transparency needed to measure real progress.
Co2mmitment is a student-led project using corporate emissions data to promote measurable climate action.
